Pesticides and industrial chemicals often dissolve in fat, and they can end up in mammary glands of cows and pass into your cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. Heptachlor, for example, was in insecticide sprayed on corn crops used for animal feed until 1983, when it as discovered to be a carcinogen. Not only did heptachlor end up in cow's milk, but also mothers who drank it and passed it along in their breast milk.
