Breuss Total Cancer Treatment

Breuss Total Cancer Treatment

This 42 day special fast (which includes a special tea) literally starves cancer cells to death (the tea is very low in glucose).

THE DR BREUSS CANCER CURE

According to Dr Rudolf Breuss, solid foods are what nourish cancer cells. He concludes that if a person with cancer lives on juice and tea for a period of time, the cancer growth will die, but the person will be able to live. Followers of the Breuss cancer cure must fast for 42 days, drinking only vegetable juices and compatible teas. Juice is permitted to satisfy hunger cravings, as long as it doesn't exceed half a litre per day. The less juice the patient drinks, the better. Dr Breuss suggests medical supervision during the cure. You must wait at least two to five months after an operation before beginning the cure. During the waiting period, drink 60 to 125 mL (1/4 to 1/2 cup) of juice per day, but also eat food such as gruel or vegetable soup and vegetables.

To prepare the Breuss vegetable juice mix, use three parts beets, one part carrots, one part celery root and then add a little black radish and one egg-sized potato. For example: 300 grams (9.6 oz) beet root, 100 g (3.2 oz) carrots, 100 g (3.2 oz) celery root, 30 g (1.06 oz) black radish juice, 1 potato, the size of an egg. It is not crucial to add the potato juice, except for cancer of the liver where it is absolutely necessary. Instead of adding the potato to the juice mixture, you can drink a cup of potato peel tea each day.

It's useful to prepare by drinking about a cup of juice per day with your usual food for a few days before starting the total cure. Once on the cure, you need to drink at least one-third of a litre of juice. (You may lose five to 15 kg (11 to 33 lbs) on this program.) You should take tiny, slow sips, not fast gulps, letting the juice remain in your mouth for a few moments. Once in a while it's good to add some sauerkraut juice.

What to Do

Slowly drink half a cup of cold kidney tea (15 grams horsetail, 10 g stinging nettle, 8 g knotgrass and 6 g St. John's wort) first thing in the morning. Thirty to 60 minutes later drink one to two cups of warm sage tea with St. John's wort, peppermint and balm (Melissa officinalis) After another 30 to 60 minutes drink a small amount of vegetable juice. After 15 to 30 more minutes drink some more juice, according how hungry you feel. During the morning you can take the juice approximately 10 to 1.5 times -- but only if you crave it. In between, drink sage tea, which can be taken cold and in any desired quantity. Never add sugar during the juice treatment!

Drink another quarter cup (60 mL) of kidney tea at noon and again before going to sleep. Remember to drink the kidney tea only during the first three treatment weeks! In the afternoon you'll frequently need a mouthful of the juice. The vegetable juice must be taken as specified and in conjunction with the teas. Don't drink the vegetable juice alone. Whether or not you have received radiation treatment, drink one half-cup of cold cranesbill tea (herb Robert) per day, sipping slowly. Cranesbill tea contains a small amount of radium.

During the treatment it's better to do a little work to take your mind off both eating and illness rather than rest in bed most of the time. Check the The Breuss Cancer Cure, available from alive books, for special teas that may be required for cancer in different areas of the body.

VICTORY OVER CANCER

When I was asked to write an article about my experience with cancer, I felt uncomfortable with how people may react.
We are each unique individuals who respond in unique ways. So, the objective of this article is to tell you what I did and give you encouragement, should you or a loved one be faced with the life threatening disease that is cancer.
Diagnosed with cancer nearly 20 years ago, I was offered the conventional medical treatments like chemotherapy and possibly surgery. While I was reflecting on these, I remembered how my father used to shop in health food stores as early as the mid-sixties. He'd buy vitamin E, lecithin, linden bark and whole wheat bread. This was unusual in the late sixties.

I decided to visit a health food store -- the kind with old wood floors, the constant and varying scent of herbal teas, bulk bins just about everywhere and an old peanut mill in the far left hand corner.

At the time, I had completed a bachelor's degree in science and was working on my master's degree. Despite my comments, criticisms and my sense of scientific superiority, the young clerk at the health food store was very attentive. When I finally admitted I had cancer she gently but firmly suggested that I might need to change my lifestyle dramatically. She placed a book in my hands -- a book about the cancer cure used in the clinic of a medical doctor in Scandinavia. The doctor's name was Christina Nolfi (I may have the spelling wrong after 20 years!). Dr Nolfi had studied with the German healer, Rudolph Breuss.

Food for Thought

I devoured Nolfi's book in one sitting. She suggested that a very restrictive diet -- a diet made up exclusively of non-cooked vegetable-based foods and vegetable juices -- could give the body the chance to cure itself. It made so much sense that it hurt.

After Nolfi's book I read How to Get Well by Paavo Airola, a naturopath.

It took me a week to digest Airola's book. I decided to follow its recommendations and start a vegetable juice fast -- something Nolfi and her mentor Breuss had been recommending all along.

Airola suggested the use of vitamin and mineral supplements along with fasting and dietary change. Since I was studying biochemistry, I decided to contact Dr Linus Pauling -- a two-time Nobel Prize laureate and a great promoter of vitamin C. To my surprise, Dr Pauling returned my call and sent me a box full of scientific studies showing the role of vitamins and minerals in preventing cancer. The doses were above the recommended daily allowance, and these studies suggested that vitamin and mineral supplements help the body in fighting cancer cells.

The bottom line is that I changed my diet radically to a vegan diet. I added amounts of vitamins and minerals that some would have considered toxic at the time (times do change!). I went through phases of juice fasting at least one week out of four to help my body fight the cancer cells on its own terms. I also took fresh vegetable juices daily. I decided that cancer could be cured and that I was in control -- not the cancer.

The Battle Won

A year and a half after my initial diagnosis, the cancer was no longer detectable and my energy level was higher than it had ever been.

Almost 20 years later I am still in excellent health, the father of four small children and someone who has devoted much of his time to lecturing, researching and teaching in the field of natural health and nutrition.

In treating cancer, try to get the collaboration of an oncologist (the cancer specialist) and a holistic physician (naturopathic doctor or holistic MD). It's not easy to get an oncologist to cooperate with biological medicine. Many will try to discourage the use of natural approaches to cancer and simply use the information given by an extremely restrictive corporate medical structure.

The protocol I now recommend for cancer patients -- whether they decide to undergo conventional cancer therapy or not -- is based on my personal experience with the disease and over 15 years of clinical experience:
Follow a vegan diet (no animal products or byproducts).

Avoid all artificial additives (artificial colors, sweeteners, flavoring agents or stabilizers).
Avoid refined and processed foods.

Exercise daily.

Consume one to two tablespoons (15-30mL) of cold-pressed organic flax seed oil daily.
Consume freshly extracted vegetable juice at least once daily, ideally two to three times.

Garlic should be consumed daily. Odorless garlic such as aged garlic extract is highly recommended.
Detoxify with herbs and dietary changes if you are strong enough.

Certain vitamins and mineral supplements can be used to help the body in its healing process:
- Vitamin C 1,000 milligrams or more according to need

- Vitamin E (ideally with mixed tocopherols) 400 international units or more daily. Care should be taken if suffering from hypertension or on blood thinning medication.

- Beta-carotene (with other carotenoids if possible though not necessary if one or two glasses of carrot juice and/or green food supplements are used daily); 25,000 IU two or three times daily.

- Selenium 200 micrograms daily.
- Zinc 25-50 mg daily.
10. The daily use of a green food or superfood blend.
11. Alkyl glycerol supplement is very useful if using chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
12. Drink high quality water; either spring, filtered (reverse osmosis) or distilled.

TAKING THE BREUSS CANCER CURE: SIX WEEKS WITHOUT FOOD - AND OTHER MINERALS

When I was 12 years old, a German classmate wrote in my scrap book: "Immer wenn du meinst es geht nicht mehr, kommt von irgendwo ein kleines Lichtlein her..." (Just when you think you can't go on, a little light starts shining).
Those were weighty words for a 12-year-old, but somehow they stuck in my mind to be remembered much later when I needed them.

In early 1995, things had not gone well. A series of personal traumas and crises had culminated in a diagnosis of breast cancer. I had a partial mastectomy and the removal of 14 lymph nodes. Except for the support of some loyal friends and colleagues I went through the experience alone. My family lived far away.

My mother was going through a serious illness herself. My (female) surgeon turned out to be completely unsupportive to the point of callousness. Even the home support nurses were on strike when I left the hospital, so that I was sitting at home, crying for days on end while struggling with the drain that was supposed to collect the lymph fluids under my arm but got clogged up again and again. Taking the drain apart and doing my own bandaging with one arm was a nightmarish experience. In addition to everything else, I felt guilty that I was crying so much instead of healing myself through "laughter and optimism."

The 25 sessions of radiation which followed did nothing to lift my spirits. After five weeks of daily treatments, my surgical scars were bright red and the area around them had become hard and leathery. Thick lumps of scar tissue could be felt behind the scars.

Following radiation, I started a course of Tamoxifen meant to last five years. The first thing I noticed was a steady weight gain in spite of a low fat vegetarian diet. During one period of three weeks, even while walking several miles a day, I gained 10 pounds.

Worse yet, I did not trust the drug. While it seems to significantly reduce the recurrence of breast cancer (with no guarantees, of course), it also increases the occurrence of liver, ovarian and especially uterine cancers. I felt that I was assaulting my system with a drug that would not guarantee a healthy future but would expose me to additional risks. Although I read many books in order to come up with an alternative, I could not find any practicable answers. I felt trapped.

It was precisely at this low point that "a little light started shining".

Through a unique turn of events I was asked to help alive with the translation of a German booklet. I had no idea that this booklet would describe a cancer cure. It was simply one of life's magical moments.

As I started reading The Breuss Cancer Cure I was mesmerized. Here was a natural, simple, easy and healthful way to eliminate cancer from the body. Rudolf Breuss described how hundreds of his patients had gone on a 42-day juice fast and had conquered their cancers! All of a sudden I felt energized. This is something I could do. I could heal myself by taking the fast and keep healthy by repeating it year after year.

I discussed the fast with my family doctor. Luckily, he is very open to alternative methods. At that time I was also taking beta blockers for my chronic high blood pressure. For years I had resisted taking medication for my hypertension, but after being diagnosed with cancer I felt that I had been irresponsible not to control this "silent killer."

When I told my doctor that I needed to stop all medication while fasting, he replied, "Of course." We agreed that I would come in once a week to have my blood pressure and my general health monitored. He then took my blood pressure which was "only" 160 over 90 due to the medication. As for the surgery, nine months after the operation and four months after radiation, the scars were still bright red, painful and hard as leather.

Early on in the fast, a knowledgeable friend told me that something miraculous happens on the last day of a six-week fast. The testimonials in Breuss's book actually mention two cases of bowel cancer where the cancer was eliminated through the bowels on precisely the forty-second day.

For me, however, good things started to happen almost immediately. When I saw my family doctor after the first seven days of the fast, I was elated to find that my blood pressure was down to 130 over 80. The next week it was down to 120 over 80, where it stayed for the rest of the fast and thereafter. On the 18th day, I suddenly noticed that the redness of my scars had almost disappeared.

On the 27th day, not only had the redness completely faded but the leathery hardness had also vanished. I was stunned to find that the scars and the surrounding areas were as soft and pliable as normal tissues and that all the lumpy scar tissue was gone! I even got an extra little miracle concerning my weight loss on the 42nd day, just as my friend had promised.

When I embarked on my fast, I weighed 163 pounds, the heaviest I had ever been except during pregnancy. I thought that it would be nice to go down to the 138 pounds I had been before my cancer diagnosis. However, I had no idea what kind of weight loss could be expected. As it turned out, by far the biggest loss takes place in the first 21 days. I lost a total of 18 pounds! After that, it took me 20 more days to lose just five pounds. On my 41st day of fasting, one day before its end, I weighed 140 pounds. And then, on the morning of the 42nd and last day, as I stepped on the scale, I realized that I had dropped two pounds overnight. I was exactly 138 pounds! It seemed like magic.

The biggest miracle was that I emerged from the fast a changed person, or better, a person who had regained herself. I felt energetic, optimistic and in charge of my life and health. Now 10 months later, I still feel that way. I also feel profoundly grateful to Rudolf Breuss, who spent a very selfless life helping people.

There is a German poem about a kindly man who had a pear tree in his yard and who always shared the lovely fruit with all the passing children. In his will he decreed that the fruit should forever belong to the children. The end of the poem reads: "So spender Segen nock immer die Hand des von Ribbeck auf Ribbeck im Havelland." (Thus Mr von Ribbeck is still passing on his blessing.)

Rudolf Breuss died in 1991, but for me and many others he is still passing on his blessing.
