Abstract:The article provides information about the physiology and pathophysiology of kidney. Kidneys contain about one million of nephrons which serve as the functional units that filter blood daily. Urine is produced in the glomerulus, a part of the nephron. The glomerular filtration rate serve as the central criterion of the stage of kidney disease.
