Sweet news for Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Sufferers

People suffering from fibromyalgia and/or chronic fatigue syndrome, both of which can be difficult to treat, may find relief in a naturally occurring sugar, according to a new study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. The study tested D-rihose, a nutritional supplement and natural component of the body's main energy source, adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Symptoms of fibromyalgia include bodily pain, fatigue, tender joints, sleep disturbances and sometimes irritable bowel syndrome, while those with chronic fatigue syndrome often report impaired memory, insomnia and profound fatigue. The two disorders often go hand in hand, and are more likely to occur in women. But scientists found that 36 people with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or both who took 5g of D-ribose three times daily for about 25 days experienced significant improvements in energy levels, sleep patterns, mental clarity and pain intensity. On average, energy increased 45 percent.

MY STORY
"D-RIBOSE HAS MADE A TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE IN MY ENERGY LEVEL. AS SOMEONE WITH FIBROMYALGIA. THERE ARE DAYS I CAN'T EVEN GET OUT OF BED. MY EX-HUSBAND IS A CHIROPRACTOR AND WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO RECOMMEND D-RIBOSE. I HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE. BUT FIGURED IT WAS WORTH A TRY, I BOUGHT THE POWDERED FORM AND MIXED ABOUT I SCOOP INTO A BEVERAGE DAILY. I HAVE BEEN SO IMPRESSED WITH THE RESULTS, ESPECIALLY IN TERMS OF MY ENERGY LEVEL, WHICH HAS REALLY INCREASED AND I REALLY NOTICE A DIFFERENCE WHEN I DON'T TAKE IT. I RAN OUT ONCE. AND THERE WAS A MARKED DROP IN MY ENERGY LEVELS." — LINDA R., SHERMAN OAKS, CA
