Abstract:The article reports on a four-year study by the researchers at the Boston University School of Medicine that was published in 2007. The study of 6,000 middle-aged men and women shows that even one daily soft drink may be hazardous to health and people who drink more sodas daily were almost 50 percent more likely to have risk factors for metabolic syndrome. Moreover, metabolic syndrome can double the chances of heart disease or stroke and can lead to diabetes.
