Abstract:The article provides information regarding seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and its treatment. SAD is a condition caused by slowing of biological clock due to daylight decreases. Its symptoms include increased cravings, diminished sex drives and social withdrawal and suicidal tendency. According to a study conducted by Dr. Raymond W. Lam, light therapy has a positive effect on 65 percent of SAD patients. The therapy could regulate symptoms of tiredness, appetite, craving and weight gain.
