Diagnosing depression and mental illness

Hi, I just saw your video on Truth about Mental Illness and Disease. I wanted to let you know that there is a psychiatrist named Daniel Amen who does use brain imaging to help diagnose anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. One of his books, Healing Anxiety and Depression, talks in detail about the different types (most people think anxiety is one disease, but there are many different variants), and how different medications and natural supplements can help. He does focus more on Western medication (which I have a strong disinclination for), but does spend some time focusing on natural supplements, which I have found very helpful.

Just thought you'd want to know.

Does anyone have experience with/sugestions for a medication for depression that doesn't tend to cause anxiety. I've been on Zoloft for along time and it's long ceased having any benefit. Prozac and Wellbutrin are too speedy.

I am looking for a referral to a DOctor in the Seattle area who can help with SSRI withdrawal syndrome (i.e. a doc who has lots of real life understanding of SSRIs--not what the drug companies say)

Rather than going on drugs, one should look for the reason behind there problem . Keeping your self busy and changing the schedule also helps sometimes to get over stress and depression.
